Bob White was an incredible swim team coach in Wauwatosa for 40 years. He started his career with the Wauwatosa High School in 1951 and began coaching at Wauwatosa West in 1961 when the school split, because he lived on the west side of Wauwatosa. In his 10 years coaching the Wauwatosa Red Raiders, he led his team to three conference championships, two state runner-up finishes, and one state championship. He says his greatest memory was all the great kids he had the privilege of mentoring. For his contributions to swimming, a popular Milwaukee area meet was named for him, the Bob White Invitational. Additionally, he was inducted into the Tosa West Hall of Fame in 2015 for his 30 years as head coach of the Spartans. For all of his achievements as a head swim team coach, White was inducted into the WISCA Hall of Fame in 1995.
