Devin Harris was one of the finest athletes to ever attend Tosa East. An incredible basketball player, Harris helped lead his team to three conference championships. He served as team captain, was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player, and was named Mr. Basketball for the state of Wisconsin in 2001. Harris was selected for 1st Team Associated Press, 1st Team All-American, 1st Team All-State, and made All-Conference three years in a row. Harris holds the record for most points in a single game (47) and most free throws made in a single season (162). He also ranks third for most field goals made in a single season (187), 3rd for most three-point shots made in a single season (94), 3rd for most assists in a single season (120), and 7th for most steals in a single season (94). Harris also went out for volleyball for one season and was named to the All-Conference team. For his astounding achievements, Tosa East retired Harris’ basketball jersey number, 20, in 2007. After graduation, Harris went on to play basketball on a full athletic scholarship for the University of Wisconsin-Madison under Coach Bo Ryan. He went into the NBA after his junior year, and Harris was selected in the first round as the fifth overall pick in the 2004 draft by the Washington Wizards. He has been an NBA All-Star and continues to play in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks at the time of this induction.
