With the sound of the starter’s pistol, all eyes were on Dan Gagne, a three-time State qualifier in Cross Country and Track and Field at Wauwatosa East. His impressive sixth-place finish at the 2013 State meet in the 1600m also resulted in a new school record of 4:14.83, still the school record in that event. Graduating in 2013, he left Wauwatosa East with an amazing legacy, holding three school records: 1600m, 1000m, and the Cross Country 5k. Dan’s eight letters during his high school years are a testament to his dedication and passion for the sport. His journey took a significant turn when he was elevated to Division I, NCAA level at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. This transition, a pivotal moment in his athletic career, created many new opportunities and challenges that Dan was ready to embrace. While attending Bradley, Dan was also a member of two Missouri Valley Cross-Country Conference Championship teams. In 2017, he achieved a significant milestone, becoming an NCAA Division I, All-American in the 1500m, an accomplishment he is very proud of.
