Jacob Wolter had earned more than half of the alphabet in varsity letters by the time he graduated from Wauwatosa East in 1997. Earning 14 varsity letters is no simple achievement and serves as a testament to Wolter’s incredible perseverance and commitment. Wolter earned four of his letters on the football field, four running track, three on the basketball court, and three playing baseball. Wolter remains Tosa East’s all-time leader in rushing yards, scoring, and interceptions on the football field and steals on the basketball court. Wolter won numerous conference and state championships across all four sports, including the 1995 conference title in football; the 1995, 1996, and 1997 conference titles and a spot in the 1997 state-semifinals in basketball; the 1996 and 1997 conference titles and the 1997 state titles in baseball; and the 1997 individual conference title and a spot at the state meet in the triple jump and long jump in track. In addition to leading his teams to so much success, Wolter was individually recognized as conference or area player of the year across multiple years and multiple sports and was selected for numerous All-State teams. He was also selected to play in the All-Star Shrine Bowl for football, the WBCA All-Star Game for basketball, and the Coaches Association All-Star Game for baseball.
