Kitti Wanat had a very successful career as an athlete on the court and field at Wauwatosa East High School.

First up in the fall season, Wanat was a four-year varsity letter winner on the volleyball team as an outside hitter. In her freshman year, the 1997 team made it to the state tournament where they finished as the WIAA Division I State Runner Up. The teams continued success on the court throughout her career, winning the Greater Metro Conference Championships in 1998 and 2000.

During the winter season, she focused on basketball. She led her team, earning three varsity letters on the hardwood as a post player.

Springtime was Wanat’s third sport where she excelled on the track and field team. Wanat was a four-year varsity letter winner and a top contender for the team in the discus circle. In 2000, she won the Greater Metro Conference Championship in the discus and qualified for the state meet that same year. The team won the Greater Metro Conference Indoor and Outdoor Conference Championship in the same year, making an exceptional season for Wanat in the sport. Wanat has the second farthest discus throw in school history, measuring at 122’5”, which she threw in her senior year. In the 2001 season, she was named on the Track and Field Honor Roll and she scored over 100 points that year.

Wanat attended Northern Michigan University, where she played volleyball before transferring and earning her degree from UW-Milwaukee.
