Scott Ferguson, a two-time letter winner in basketball and a three-time letter winner in baseball, was not just a player, but a leader. He led the basketball as Team Captain during his senior year, a testament to his influence on the team’s success. His senior year statistics speak volumes, averaging 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He was voted 2nd team, All-Suburban and Honorable Mention, All-State in 1970. The 1970 team, under Scott’s leadership, embarked on an exhilarating journey. They clinched the Suburban Conference title and advanced to the State Tournament as pre-tournament favorites. Despite finishing fourth, their journey was a testament to their resilience and skill, ending the year with a commendable 24-2 record. Scott also excelled at baseball, where he was a three-year starter at catcher for the Wauwatosa and Wauwatosa East baseball teams. Scott’s talent was recognized beyond the college level when he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1970 Major League Baseball draft, a testament to his skill and potential. He played two years of varsity basketball at UW Stout and four years of varsity baseball at UW-Stout, UW-Milwaukee, and UW La Crosse.
