Tony Walls is one of the all-time great athletes who played for the Red Raiders. Focusing on basketball and soccer, Tony earned seven letters during his high school years. From the very beginning, Tony showed his potential in basketball, earning a starting position on varsity during the playoffs in his first year. His sophomore year, he played point guard, developing his leadership skills under George Haas. By his junior year, Tony’s excellence on the court was undeniable, earning him Second Team All-Conference honors. His senior year was the pinnacle, with Tony’s instrumental role in the team’s State Championship win under the coaching of Tim Arndorfer. Tony truly excelled in soccer, earning a starting position on the varsity squad in his first year. During his sophomore year, Tony further developed his skills and was honored with his selection to the First Team, All-Conference for the Greater Metro Conference. Tony’s journey was not without its challenges, but his perseverance and dedication to his craft shone through. He continued to hone his core skills through aggressive training and a strong work ethic, which enabled him to achieve numerous recognition awards, including Greater Metro Co-Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-State honors. In 2007, Tony’s senior year, the soccer team finished fifth in the state, a testament to his significant contributions. Tony scored in thirteen straight games and received recognition from the Tosa Times with the article “The Great Walls of Tosa.” After his high school graduation, Tony’s sports journey continued at UW-Green Bay, where he played for the team with an overall record of 44-21-11. After college, Tony’s passion for soccer didn’t wane. He went on to play indoor soccer at the professional level for an impressive eleven seasons. His career spanned notable teams such as The Milwaukee Wave, Cedar Rapids Rampage, Ontario Fury, and the St. Louis Ambush, cementing his status as a seasoned professional in the sport.
