Herb Siewert succeeded Coach Bob Hanke, after his team clinched another State Swimming Championship in 1949. Herb carried on the fine tradition of winning with two additional State Championships, ensuring the legacy continued. In 1950 and 1951, Herb led the Wauwatosa High Swim team to the Conference and State Championships, marking the second time Wauwatosa High had achieved three consecutive State Championships in a single sport, another three-peat. Herb also coached fifteen event champions who won as individuals supporting the team’s success during this tenure. Herb went on to win another Conference Championship in 1952 before he joined the military near the end of the Korean Conflict, where he served as a Navy Pilot.
