John Simon’s arrival at Tosa East in 1992 was the dawn of a transformative era for the Volleyball program, a period that would shape the next thirty years of history. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence inspired a generation of players and set a new standard for the program. By 1996, John achieved his first State Championship and followed it up with another in 2006. John’s team also accomplished State Runner-up appearances in 1992, 1994, and 1999. During his tenure as Head Coach, John’s dominance was evident, as he clinched an impressive seven Conference Championships. John retired from Coaching in 2021 after an illustrious career, coaching 1,089 games, a record for Tosa East that will stand for decades to come. His 782 wins and 307 losses, with a winning percentage of .720, are a testament to his unparalleled coaching prowess and dedication to the sport. John’s legacy extends far beyond his championships. He will be remembered as an incredible motivator, a coach who instilled a winning mindset in his players and led them to more victories than any other coach in Wauwatosa East history.
