Few students have left Tosa East as well regarded and as well rounded as Jovan DeWitt. Jovan was not only a three time letter winner in football, wrestling and track, but also became fluent in French and would go on to earn a degree in Physics and Mathematics. In football, Jovan was All Conference linebacker his junior year and added Team MVP, All Conference and All State Honorable Mention recognition his senior year. In track, Jovan was a member of the Conference Champion Shot Put Relay teams in 1992 and 1993. As a wrestler, DeWitt was All Conference, Regional Champion, Sectional Champion and All State his junior and senior year, finishing 5th in State both years. After high school, Jovan was a two-time All Conference selection and Conference Defensive Player of the Year while attending Northern Michigan. After camping with the New Orleans Saints in 1997, he would play three years in the Arena Football League before turning his attention to coaching. Jovan is currently an assistant football coach at the University of Nebraska after stops at Central Florida, Army and Florida Atlantic among others.
