Preston Johnson

Class of 1991 - Basketball, Baseball

Preston Johnson had a magical right arm using it as a deadly 3 point shooter in basketball and as an ace pitcher for the baseball team. In baseball, Preston garnered 2nd Team All Conference honor as a junior. His senior year, Preston led the Red Raiders to the 1991 Conference Championship (the first in Tosa East history). Preston would earn All Conference and All Suburban honors that year and leave Tosa East as the record holder in Career Strikeouts and Career Wins. Preston, however, is probably best remembered for his accomplishments on the basketball court. As a sweet stroking sophomore, Johnson led the Red Raiders in scoring as the team would go on to win the 1989 Conference and State Championships. Preston would again lead Tosa East to a Conference Championship in 1990 while being awarded All Conference and All Suburban accolades. Johnson’s senior year saw another Conference Championship and a State Tournament run that took the Red Raiders to the Championship game before succumbing to Milwaukee Rufus King. Preston would earn All Conference, All Suburban, All State Tournament and 4th Team All State honors. Preston still holds the Tosa East Career 3 Points Made title and is second for Career Points.
