Having been named Captain of the Football, Basketball and Track teams his senior year, Steve Brown’s natural leadership qualities were clearly appreciated by his coaches. While Steve was an excellent running back, it was his abilities as a defensive back that really stood out. Steve earned All Conference, All-Area and 1st Team All State honors for his outstanding play. On the track, Steve set school records for Indoor Long Jump, Triple Jump and the 330 yard low hurdles. He was the conference champion in the 330 yard low hurdles and as the leading scorer for the team helped lead them to Conference Championships in both the Relays and Outdoor meets. Steve would go on to play both football and track at Brown University. After completing college, Steve was an assistant football coach at Tosa East for 8 seasons.
